SeaStar steering equipment to be used as standard on US builder’s larger boat models

Sea Pro Boats in the US has chosen Dometic’s SeaStar Optimus EPS and SeaStar Power Assist steering as standard equipment on its larger, high-horsepower boat models.

Sea Pro’s 259 DLX and soon-to-be-launched 319 DLX centre console fishing boats are the flagships of the Sea Pro line, which includes bay boats and deep-vee centre consoles from 17t-31ft. They measure 25.9ft and 31.9ft respectively, and are built for today’s large, powerful outboard motors.

Both models offer the latest features and advanced technology, making them an ideal match for Optimus EPS (Electronic Power Steering). Sea Pro will also be offering SeaStar Optimus 360 Joystick control as a factory option.

“We want owners of new Sea Pro boats to enjoy the best possible experience every time they step behind the helm,” says Sea Pro Boats president Jimmy Hancock. “This advanced SeaStar steering technology provides a sense of effortless, precision control — especially important with today’s larger, more powerful engines.

“We want to deliver a boat that doesn’t just look great and fish great, but also feels greats to the driver. SeaStar is helping us deliver on this promise,” Hancock adds.
